Dr Miriam Silver is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who took a voluntary redundancy from the NHS after 16 years working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to set up her own small social business. She is a self-proclaimed data nerd, whose mission is to use psychological knowledge to improve outcomes for children who have experienced adversity. Her company, LifePsychol Ltd, provides tools to map the needs of complex children and see how they change over time. The goal is to improve children’s social care in the UK, starting with children living in foster families and residential care homes.

Hi, I’m a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist working at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. I’m the clinical lead for Neuropsychology input for acute neurorehabilitation, major trauma, and community neurorehabilitation, and my team were also heavily involved in providing inpatient psychological support for those brought to Salford Royal following the Manchester Arena Attack. I do inpatient and outpatient work, and have research interests in emergency preparedness, major trauma, digitisation of clinical practice, and rare neurological disorders.

My name is Sophia Fedorowicz and I have recently finished my undergraduate degree in psychology at Staffordhsire University where I attained a first (very proud and will mention it any opportunity I get). My main interest is mental health, including peers support, self-care and service user involvement. I have also developed a growing enthusiasm for the dissemination of research. Nadine is an aspiring clinical and research psychologist who has completed her BSc (Hons) in Psychology and MPhil in Primary Care Mental Health from the University of Manchester (UoM). She is currently working towards her PhD in Mental Health at the university, funded through a doctoral training studentship with the Medical Research Council. Her research is on the assessment of dementia and cognitive impairment within ethnic minorities and improving their access to and diagnosis of dementia in memory clinics. As she has roots in both the UK and Pakistan she has knowledge of both their cultural and language based contexts.

Rachel is an Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in private practice in Chicago, IL. She has a BS in Psychology, a MA in Couple and Family Therapy, and is currently a second year Couple and Family Therapy PhD student at Adler University.  Prior to becoming a therapist, Rachel spent nearly a decade in adult sex education, and 20 years in retail management. In addition to her roles as student, and therapist, Rachel wears the hats of wife, mother to 16 year old daughter and 20 year old son, and writer.

Caitlin completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Sheffield Hallam University. She is currently studying for an MSc in Applied Neuropsychology at The University of Bristol. Presently, Caitlin is conducting her research project within the epilepsy surgery programme in North Bristol NHS Trust. The research is investigating the neuropsychological predictors of quality of life outcome following on from epilepsy surgery. Alongside this she is also undertaking a summer placement as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Hi! I'm Tom, a Trainee Clinical Psychologist from the North of England. I also founded PsyTweeps! My long-standing interest in psychology and the behaviour of others spurred me to take it at A-Level, and the rest is history. I went on to study a BSc in Psychology in Lancaster, and specialised in psychopharmacology and neurobiology during my third year. My third year thesis project, "Electrophysiological correlates of the auditory enhancement effect at the level of the Auditory Cortex" really cemented my interest in neuropsychology and neurobiology.

She is currently writing up a thesis in the area of visual perception, focusing on lightness contrast and lightness assimilation (i.e. instances where two identical grey surfaces appear to differ depending on the context they are presented in) and uses a combined behavioural and EEG approach.

My name is Imogen, and I live in Scotland with my partner and my cat.  I got interested in psychology when I saw Susan Greenfield's Christmas Lectures on the brain when I was seven.  I remember thinking "Girls can do science too!".  After completing my undergrad in psychology, I studied for an MSc in Health psychology, then worked as a research assistant, then an assistant psychologist in a CAMHS team.  All that experience helped me get on the Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology training at the University of Edinburgh.
